Well, Christmas is almost upon us...it comes round very quickly each year...
We'd like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and hope 2017 turns out the way everyone would like it to...
we're having a quiet Christmas with just the family and an even quieter New Year's Eve...the family will be out partying and Liz and I will be having a quiet night in, watching the bells from Edinburgh at midnight and a couple of drams...sounds good to me...

well here we go again...winter is on the way...next week the clocks go back...went to the bingo in the Birchwood club last night ..Liz got a fiver...we're going down town tomorrow..it's Lincoln-shire sausage weekend...
this year has passed very quickly..we went to Croatia in June ..one of Liz's bucket list, to visit Dubrovnik...we stayed in Cavtat, just outside of the city, it was excellent..no complaints..except that Dubrovnik is full of steps up side streets...back now and just celebrating our 70th birthdays...don't feel old enough...
That's us into 2016 now...we've pottered along fine up until Christmas...had a quiet one and the same for the New Year...mainly because I was going into Barlborough Hospital for a bit of work on my shoulder...but I shouldn't have worried..I was in on the morning of 2nd January and out by lunch time...they did a bit of 'decompression' work on my shoulder and I haven't had any bother since...I was expecting no driving for up to 3 months..didn't happen...not even a sling...and they gave me loads of pain-killers, I didn't have to take any..it has surprised everyone, including the nursing staff...I go next week to get my stitches out..and that should be it...
