15th July 2014

Time passes so quickly...we've been here, in Lincoln, for 6 weeks and it's gone so quick...we seem to have settled in quite well...it's quite strange not having to get up and go to work anymore...we've been getting round the area, visiting some folks we used to know and generally getting acclimatised to Lincolnshire...Donnie, Mags and Andy have been great..putting up with our idiocincracies (is that the right word)...or, maybe, little foibles...we've been doing a lot of walking, and, therefore losing a few pounds in weight...but we're having the odd pint as well, so it's not so bad...we've been back over, a couple of times, to North Walsham and Norwich visiting folks and staying with Suzie and Mark...the weather has been excellent...far too hot...

that's me .. retired now.  Moving to Lincoln at the end of May...looking forward to not getting up early in the morning... but I'll probably miss chatting to the students as they walk by...but time moves on..it'll be another era for us...starting over...we're going to be very busy between now and then..got to clean out the garage/shed and loft...massive job..but we're looking forward to June when we'll be moved in..settled...

HereHere  we go for another festive occasion…this year we decided not to send so many
Christmas cards as previous years…we put an advert in our paper up North, the John o’Groat Journal, and put things on Facebook and Twitter, to wish our friends all the best for Christmas and the New Year…but we got almost as many Christmas cards as usual…

We were planning on a quiet Christmas.. went over to Suzie’s on Christmas Eve, had Christmas Day with Suzie, Mark and Mark’s mum, Jean… had a festive day and then came back up home on Boxing Day… did nothing much for the next couple of days until the Sunday, when we had John, Brenda, Pat and Sam over for lunch/dinner… it was quite entertaining and then on New Years Eve we went down to the Bluebell, hoping to see some locals and take in the New Year with them…but apart from a half-dozen friends, there weren’t many folk we knew…so we came home at 12.30 am… a quiet New Year…so that was it until Saturday 4th January, we went into Norwich and had a lunch in the No. 12 pub with Suzie to celebrate her birthday…then came home…now, I’m back to work tomorrow, 7th January and everything is back to normal…
